Dikta heldur tónleika á föstudaginn kemur, 20. mars, á Sódóma Reykjavík, Tryggvagötu (Gamli Gaukur á Stöng). Dikta mun frumflytja nokkur splunkuný lög auk þess sem þessi gömlu góðu fá að fljóta með.
Einnig munu koma fram Jeff Who? og Sing for me Sandra.
Jeff Who? þarf nú líklegast ekki að kynna fyrir neinum en þeir áttu stórsmellinn Barfly hér um árið. Þeir gáfu út nýja plötu síðasta haust og fékk hún einstaklega góðar viðtökur.
Sing for me Sandra er nýtt íslenskt band sem þykir með efnilegri popp/rokk böndum landsins. Þrátt fyrir að meðlimirnir séu flestir nýfermdir eru þeir geysilega þéttir og eiga mörg frábær lög. Ef þið eigið auka pening væri hægt að fjárfesta í ýmsu heimskulegra en þessum ungu drengjum.
Aðgangseyrir á tónleikana á föstudaginn er aðeins 1000 kr. og hefjast þeir stundvíslega á miðnætti.
NÝTT LAG – LET GO:
Nýtt lag frá Diktu, Let Go, er nú komið út. Let Go er þrusurokkari sem hefur notið mikilla vinsælda á tónleikum Diktu síðustu misserin. Lagið tóku drengirnir í Diktu upp sjálfir en lagið er mixað og masterað af sænska upptökustjóranum Jens Bogren sem er þekktur fyrir störf sín með hljómsveitinni Opeth o.fl.
Let Go er nú komið í hörku útvarpsspilun. Lagið stökk hæst nýrra laga inn á vinsældarlista X-ins 977 og fór beint í 10. sætið. Rás 2 er byrjað að spila lagið en hægt er að fara inn á www.ruv.is/topp30 og kjósa Let Go á Topp30 á Rás 2. Lagið er líka komið í útvarpsspilun í Katar og það verður því fróðlegt að sjá hvort Let Go falli eins vel í kramið hjá útvarpshlustendum í Katar og Breaking the Waves gerði.

MTV í Bandaríkjunum hefur leigt réttinn á nokkrum Dikta lögum en lögin verða notuð í sjónvarpsþáttum sem MTV framleiðir núna fyrir næsta vetur.
Síðustu vikurnar hafa liðsmenn Diktu setið sveittir í hljóðveri við prufuupptökur og forvinnu fyrir næstu plötu sveitarinnar sem væntanleg er síðar á árinu. Ferlið hefur gengið með eindæmum vel og hefur hljómsveitin verið að fæða, klæða og næra ný lög. Þegar búið verður að ala afkvæmin upp verður þeim sleppt út í sitt náttúrulega umhverfi, hljóðhimnur hlustenda.

Dikta have been very busy and the outcome has been inspirational so far. Not only have they recently signed a licensing deal with MTV to have some of their songs used in a new show called ”The City,” but they have finished a new song called Let Go!

Well, first off we have to tell you about two great concerts coming up this next week in Iceland. Tonight, Dikta will be playing at Grand Rokk in downtown Reykjavík. Other acts for the night will include Toggi, Mugsefjun, and Buff. Entrance is 1000 kronur and the show starts at 23:00.
Then on December 22nd, Radio X 97.7 is holding a brilliant Christmas Benefit concert at Dillon in downtown Reykjavík. This show will start at 18:00 and cost 977 kronur. The night will feature performances by both Dikta and Dr. Spock, along with Vicky, Ourlives, Sign, The Viking Giant Show, Dynamo Fog, and many more! That’s a lot of music for the price.
Dr. Spock’s latest album, Falcon Christ, is still going strong in Iceland. It’s been getting regular radio play and the band have been touring around the country for it the past month. The album would make a great Christmas present for any fan of rock or Icelandic music you know.
And while we wait for the new song by Dikta (called Let Go, which should be coming in the next coming weeks), we remind you of their amazing Christmas song. They recorded an old traditional Icelandic Christmas song called “Nottin var su ágaet ein” which translates to ‘That delightful night.’ The song was recorded in December 2007 to capture the true Christmas spirit.

Our very own Dikta have just posted a blog on their myspace page announcing that a new song titled Let Go is now being mixed. This exciting news is also accompanied by a video of Haukur, their lead singer, laying down some vocals for it.

The 2008 Iceland Airwaves Music Festival kicked off last night with all the energy and excitement we’ve come to expect from it! Moving on to the second day, we are happy to be starting our off venue concerts at the Smekkleysa shop at Laugavegur 35.

Dikta have wrapped up their tour of the USA with great results. I had the opportunity to catch one of their performances at The Viper Room in Hollywood, California and the new songs are sounding great! We all look forward to the release of their new album.

Hér kemur fullt line-up og tímasetningar atriða á Afmælishátíð Organ. Hátíðin er vegleg og hér ægir saman hljómsveitum sem fólk þekkir og elskar í bland við óþekktar en afar spennandi stærðir. Það þykir því við hæfi, þegar litið er yfir síðasta ár, að hátíðin hefjist og endi á hljómsveitum sem við erum fullviss um að muni setja mark sitt á hið næsta. Þó að á hátíðinni sé að stórum hluta hampað listamönnum sem hafa sett mark sitt á þetta fyrsta ár Organ þá er full ástæða til að horfa björtum augum fram á veginn og munu því DLX ATX (borið fram Deluxe Attacks) hefja leika og önnur álíka spennandi sveit, Kid Twist, enda hátíðina. Smekkleysa SM/Bad Taste SM, was established in Iceland in 1986, by a group of young artists and musicians, who had been active since the Icelandic punk explosion in the early eighties. Part of their world domination or death manifesto, was to create a pop band with The Sugarcubes which in turn became the backbone for Smekkleysa SMs activities over the next few years.
The company has since grown from being an experimental cultural organization into a fully active record company. It has developed and worked with some of Icelands most interesting artists, e.g. The Sugarcubes, Björk, Sigur Rós, múm, Mínus, Ghostigital, Curver, Ske, slowblow, Kimono and Jan Mayen.
We have a record shop on Laugavegur 35 called Smekkleysa Plötubúð Pötubúð means Recordshop where we have a great selection of music and related stuff. This location is in dead centre of town.
Currently we operate on-line and have our great terrestrial presence in our shop. Also have a distribution system set up for our releases world wide. And Iceland!
